Hansol Kang

“A super concert pianist,” acclaimed by Pianist John Perry, pianist Han-sol Kang has established himself as one of today’s promising young artists. After won at one of the prestigious competitions in his country: Busan MBC Music Competition, he moved to United States, and has performed solo recitals, chamber music, and concerti. Han-sol was invited from Prof. Anthony di Bonaventura of Boston University in 2011 to the Brandywine International Piano Institute with an awarded full scholarship, and performed at the Young Artists Recital at the Philips Memorial Building in Pennsylvania. Recently won at the Sidney Wright Competition in 2015, he has appeared as soloist with many orchestras including the Prime Orchestra, Gyeong-gi Philharmonic Orchestra, and Chung Ang University Alumni Orchestra, Chung Ang University Wind Orchestra by winning concerto competitions. 

Currently pursuing his Doctorate at University of Texas at Austin as candidate, he earned his Masters’ degree in Piano Performance under the Professor Gregory Allen at University of Texas at Austin’s Butler School of Music. Previously, he received his Bachelor at Chung Ang University under Prof.Younwha Lee. His qualification of Summa Cum Laude in Piano Performance led him to be invited as a solo pianist of prestigious newspaper debut concert: Chosun Daily News Paper in 2010. He has been also awarded numerous scholarships: Alamo City Endowed Scholarship for Pianists, Korean American Scholarship Foundation, Jonilu Swearingen Nubel Endowed, Butler Music Excellent Scholarship, and Korean Embassy Honor Scholarship.
